Annual “Who’s Who in Energy” list celebrates local leaders helping guide the energy sector in Denver
DENVER (November 15, 2019) — Unico Solar Investors LLC a wholly-owned subsidiary of Unico Investment Group LLC that develops, owns and operates solar energy systems for its own real estate portfolio as well as for third-party clients, announced that Unico Associate Director of Solar Investments Adam Knoff has been named a 2019 “Who’s Who in Energy” honoree by the Denver Business Journal. Knoff co-founded Unico Solar with Unico Vice President Brett Phillips in 2017.
The annual “Who’s Who in Energy” list celebrates local leaders whose position, knowledge or expertise has helped guide the energy sector in Denver. Knoff was honored for his work in the renewables sector.
For more than a decade, Knoff’s extensive knowledge of commercial real estate sustainability issues, paired with a deep understanding of energy policy and utility markets, has helped buildings achieve lasting efficiency.
Through his work with Unico Solar, Knoff has partnered with dozens of building and real estate owners across the country, helping them unlock the hidden value in their real estate. By changing the way buildings harness the power of the sun, Unico Solar’s approach provides long-term, acyclical cash flow by leasing underutilized space and selling clean energy to a diversified mix of electricity consumers that include utilities, commercial and industrial buildings, as well as educational facilities.
Under Knoff’s leadership, Unico’s 18 million-square-foot portfolio has become 34 percent more energy efficient than the national median. The firm was named USGBC Colorado’s Greenest Real Estate Company of the Year in 2017.
Knoff is also an active industry leader, having earned an Executive Energy Leadership Certificate from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and serving as board chairman for the Denver 2030 District project, an interdisciplinary public/private/nonprofit collaborative working to create a groundbreaking high-performance building district in downtown Denver.
The complete “Who’s Who in Energy” report will be published by the Denver Business Journal on Nov. 22.
